Meet your physician

My Story

I grew up in rural Pennsylvania and have spent over 10 years practicing as a board-certified physician anesthesiologist. Much of my career has been dedicated to treating patients who needed precise medication management, from obese patients undergoing surgery to critically ill trauma cases.

My medical practice is also shaped by my service as a United States Air Force veteran. I trained and worked in some of the busiest academic trauma centers in Texas, Virginia, and Maryland. I deployed to Syria, Turkey, Kuwait, and Qatar, where I provided critical care evacuation and damage control resuscitation for severely injured soldiers. Those experiences taught me the importance of precision, resilience, and trust — values I bring to every patient I work with today.

My Journey with Weight Loss

My connection to GLP-1 therapy isn’t just professional — it’s personal. I used semaglutide myself to lose 70 pounds. I know what it feels like to struggle with weight, and I know how transformative these medications can be. That’s why I’m so passionate about the long-term health outcomes we are seeing from this class of medications, not only in weight loss, but in reducing heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.

Why I Started Coastal Weight Loss

After seeing both the science and living the results, I wanted to create a boutique, physician-led telehealth practice here in Virginia. Unlike national telehealth platforms, my patients work directly with me — not a call center, app, or chatbot. Every consultation, every dose adjustment, and every follow-up is handled by a physician with military precision, clinical experience, and personal understanding of the weight loss journey.

My Life Outside of Medicine

I’m a proud father of four young children, and our family is rounded out by a dog (Rusty) and a gecko (Sharky; who is currently lacking a tail thanks to my overly loving three year old daughter). Outside of work, I enjoy boating and pickleball here in Virginia Beach.
